Meet our Leadership

Shippers Warehouse, Inc. of Dallas began in 1901 as a cotton warehouse supporting the textile industry. After the introduction of synthetic fibers in the 1950s, the company expanded into general commodities storage.

Although it was founded more than a century ago, Shippers Warehouse has had relatively few owners over the years. The founder of Shippers Warehouse was W.D. Felder, who operated the company for many years. Richard "Dick" Williams and D.T. "Darby" Strickland purchased the firm from the W.D. Felder Trust in 1971. Kenneth Johnson and Graham Swank, longtime members of the Shippers management team, purchased seventy percent of the stock in Shippers Warehouse in June of 2008. Mr. Strickland and the Strickland Family Trust maintain a thirty percent share in the firm. Ken Johnson serves as President of the company.

Sales for Shippers have grown steadily in recent years and currently nearly $100 million annually. The firm plans to continue its expansion by acquisition or opportunity into the Midwest, Northeast, and West Coast markets and by seeking additional opportunities in packaging, transportation, temporary labor services, and supply chain consulting.
